Your final Prologue and Scene 1 summaries are due tomorrow, at the beginning of class, with the rough draft attached to it.

One section (period two) of English 2 had the tenth grade assembly.

The other section (period three) practiced public speaking without placeholders by using a game, and then wrote a sneeze about something unusual that has happened to them.

If you had to write a biography of your life, what would you title it and why?

Go over summary basics.

How to Summarize: Get to the point!

1.Read the text.
2.Don’t let big words scare you.
3.Ask, “What was this text about?”

Your Answer:

  • Should be a complete sentence or two
  • Should cover main point and key ideas
  • Should be in your own words
  • Shouldn’t just be a word or two

Name three people whose lives have been improved by knowing you, and explain why.  Write at least one page.

Begin reading Antigone in small groups, filling out characterizations of the main characters as you go.

If someone gains, someone else loses,  (if I get a job, someone else did not get it). How much does this reflect life, and how much does it come up short? Give examples.

Short discussion about whether you would do the same thing and why…

In class writing assignment:

  1. Write to me a narrative short story about a time you decided to do the right thing, even though it was difficult, arduous, or you simply did not want to do it.
  2. Your story should be at least two pages, single spaced. Should you decide to skip lines, the story should be four pages.
  3. Please do your best work and have fun with this assignment!
  4. Don’t forget a creative title.
  5. Whose paper is this? Make sure your heading is in the top right.

Welcome to a new year!

Hello Yellow Jackets of all ages, grades, and subject matter.  I want to welcome you to a new, exciting year!  For those of you returning for another year, welcome back.  For those of you who are new to OHS, I share that experience and adventure with you!
